.....contd............ had market stalls (including, notably, Covent Garden, London - stall number 1); worked with autistic young people (and still do) ...... not to mention the odd stint in I.T., construction, food factories and shops.  When did I fit all that in and manage to start a family?

In the outdoors industry, I freelanced with a variety of companies before founding WMT.  I also have an ongoing involvement with the Duke of  Edinburgh Award; in fact my outdoor career started with this when I was teaching and a member of the London Schools Mountaineering Association. ..... In fact I don’t remember leaving so I’m probably still a member!  I have trained young people for Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions and assessed to Gold as well.  As a freelancer I have worked in the Peaks, Wales and the Lakes.  I have led groups abroad; to Spain (the Picos de Europa), Morocco (Jbel Sarrho) Romania (Transylvanian Alps) and Iceland (the Laugavegurinn).

More than anything else, I love to introduce people to the mountains and wilderness, and see things afresh through their eyes ...... that is why I am working in the outdoors, as nothing else quite gives me that excitement of continual rediscovery.

Anyway, I didn’t intend this to be a complete Curriculum Vitae, merely to introduce myself to prospective clients and colleagues.  Please feel free to contact me through the website email.

See you on the Hill!
